Getting Started with a New Account
Directly after renting your storage unit, you should have received an automated text message from our storage facility.
In the SMS, click the link and download the Storage Smart entry app. Then, log in. You do not need to create an account, as one was created when you booked the rental.
• Your phone number is your username, and the 6-digit PIN number given to you will be your temporary password. After getting into your account, the app will tell you to create a new password.
To make logging in simpler, you can download the app by searching in the App Store or Google Play Store for "Storage Smart Entry" and download it there, then continue to log in with your username and password.
You will see a prompt pop up twice. Select “OK” to give the Storage Smart Entry app access to your mobile device's Bluetooth and location services.
Please Note: Bluetooth must be turned enabled in your smartphone’s settings
to access your storage unit.
Getting Access to your storage unit
To access your storage unit, tap the LED light on the smart lock to “wake” it. Then, open the Storage Smart Entry app on your smartphone. Note: You’ll need a Wi-Fi or cellular signal to open the app.
After doing so, the smart lock is “awake,” and the unit icon on your app will be highlighted. Tapping the highlighted icon will open your storage unit door.
Multi-access with a Digital Key
Our digital key through the Storage Smart Entry app makes it easy for a trusted friend or family member to access your storage unit. To share the digital key, click on the plus sign in your Storage Smart Entry app's top right-hand corner and select “Share Unit.”
Put in the cell phone number of the person you want to share the key with, then choose the unit or entrance point you want them to be able to enter. Immediately after, the new user will get an automated text message, including a link to the Storage Smart. Your digital key and the entry software will let them into the storage unit.
Tips and Tricks
Although using your smart storage unit is easy, here are some pointers to make it even simpler:
• Check that the Bluetooth option on your phone is enabled. If you own an iPhone, you can turn on Bluetooth in two locations: by going to Settings and scrolling down to the Storage Smart Entry app or by selecting Bluetooth.
• Verify the Location Services setting on your phone is enabled. Limited to Android
• If using an elevator, be careful to click on the app's icon before choosing a floor.
• No cellular service? Connect to the facility’s WIFI or authenticate the app while you are still connected. Open the app and authenticate it so you can still access your unit even if you do not have a signal.
• Forgotten your login? You can reset your password by choosing "reset password" on the login screen.
Troubleshooting Tips
• Update to the latest version of the app. You can do this by searching Storage Smart Entry in the App Store or Google Play Store.
• Close the app and log back in.
• Turn Bluetooth off and on.
• Restart your smartphone.
